Article VI. Committees

Section 1. Definitions

The President, acting for the Regional Council, shall appoint members to Region Standing and Special Committees and Working Groups. Special Committees and Working Groups shall be established as necessary and shall be disbanded when the requirement no longer exists. Committees and Working Groups shall report to the Regional Council through the President.

Section 2. Standing Committees

a. Executive Committee

The Executive Committee shall consist of the President, Vice President, Immediate Past President, and National Director and shall act for the Regional Council in the interim between meetings to carry on the business and financial affairs of the Region. Reports of interim actions taken by the Executive Committee and appropriate recommendations for final action shall be submitted for consideration to the Regional Council at its next meeting.

b. Nominating Committee

The Nominating Committee, chaired by the Immediate Past President, shall include two additional Region members in good standing selected to provide geographical and field of practice diversity. It shall be the duty of the said Committee to solicit Region membership for suggestions, to consider all suggestions received and to nominate candidates for the appropriate offices.

c. Membership Committee

The Membership Committee (or Membership Team), chaired by the Membership Officer, shall consist of two (2) or more members of the Region and shall represent the Region in Society membership development activities and in organizing and directing membership promotion within the Region.
