Southwest US Region Elects New Officers for 2012

The Southwest US Region of ASPRS is pleased to announce the election of new officers for 2012.  The election closed on March 2, 2012 and the results have been certified by the officers of the Region.

 

Taking office as the new Vice President is Dr. Steven Steinberg.  Steven J. Steinberg, PhD, GISP, has been an ASPRS member since 1993. He served two terms as NorCal Region President from 2008-2011 following a term as President-Elect from 2007-2008. Prior to that he served as education chair from 2001-2004 during which time he helped to initiated the NorCal Regional Scholarship and Student Chapter travel support programs.

A. Stewart Walker Resigns

On Sunday March 4, 2012, A. Stewart Walker tendered his resignation as National Director for the Southwest US Region of ASPRS.  This resignation follows Stewart’s election as Vice-President of the ASPRS National organization for 2012-13.  His installation will occur at the National convention in Sacramento on Wednesday, March 21, 2012.  If you are at the National meeting please join me at the installation at business meeting luncheon on the 21st to recognize his achievement. Please join me in acknowledging and thanking Stewart for his years of service to ASPRS and the region.  Stewart was the motive force in re-launching the Southwest US region after it had gone dormant and has served with distinction as the Region’s National Director for the last four years.   Thank you Stewart for your service to region and ASPRS.  We wish you the best in your new position at ASPRS and look forward to continuing our collaboration with you and National in the years to come.
